Stahlbau Nord turns first lock section for the new construction of the reserve gate for the Emden lock

The first lock section was successfully turned - a precise process with a high degree of technical complexity.

Stahlbau Nord has reached another milestone in the construction of the new Emden reservoir: the first lock section has been turned as planned. This technically demanding process is essential for the correct alignment of the section in the subsequent assembly process.

First, the final finishing touches are made before turning. The steel section, which weighs several tons, is then lifted at four points and transported to the rear hall. There it is turned over so that it is correctly positioned for the next processing steps.

Once it has been successfully turned, it is placed precisely onto a prepared carrier plate. Finally, the section is erected and transferred to the neighboring hall, where it is connected to the other components.
